Guiding Symptoms. This remedy is specially used for low fevers, malarial poisoning, septic conditions of the blood, and extreme prostration. Inexpressible sick feeling. Great muscular soreness and putrid phenomena always present in this patient. All the secretions are offensive, urine, sweat, breath, stool, etc. Epidemic influenza exists. Chronic intestinal toxemia with fetid stools and eructations in children. In low potency this remedy produces antibodies. It raises the natural bodily resistance to the attack of the bacillary intoxication, which produces the typhoid syndrome. After vaccination with anti-typhoid serum. Intermittent pulse, especially in the aged men / women.
Mind Symptoms. Patient is unable to think. Mental confusion. Ideas confused. Wild, wandering feeling. Daydream of divided personality. Thinks he is broken or double. Frenzy, muttering ,wandering. Falls asleep while being addressed to. Melancholia, with state of unconsciousness.
Stomach Symptoms. Vomiting due to spasm of esophagus. Can ingest only liquids. Gastric fever. Constantly desire for water. No appetite. Sinking feeling at stomach. Pain in epigastric region. Feeling of stone in stomach. All symptoms worse from alcoholic drink (compare with Kali Bichrome in this condition).
Female Symptoms. Menses too early and plentiful. Vulnerable miscarriage from mental shock or depression.
Head Symptoms. Vertigo i.e pressure at root of nose. Skin of forehead feels tight; seems pinched to back of head. Feels too large, without sensation, heavy. Soreness of eyeballs. Deafness in typhoid condition. Eyelids feels heavy.
Fever Symptoms. Heat all over the body with occasional chills. Chill about 9-10 a.m. Chill with rheumatic pains and soreness all the body. Typhus and Shipboard fever.
Abdomen Symptoms. Inflated and rumbling. Tenderness over region of gallbladder, with diarrhea. Right side markedly affected. Stools very odious, dark, bloody and thin. Dysentery in old people. Soreness of abdomen, in region of liver.
Throat Symptoms. Dark redness of tonsils. Contraction of esophagus. Difficulty in swallowing solid food. Painless sore throat and offensive discharges. Contraction at cardiac lips.
Modalities. Worse from moist heat and fog. Indoors Worse.
Relationship.
i. Compare with Arsenic and Bryonia.
ii. Reaction shows with Arnica, Arsenic, Bryonia and Rhustox.
Doseage. Mother tincture (Q) to 12th potency.
